I got some new shoes yesterday, pretty damn awesome if you ask me. I went for a jog (maybe like a fast walk with an extra bounce in it) on the weekend and within 100m ended up with shin splint pain. The shoes I wear are basically a more sporty looking pair of chucks, they don't provide much support and while are great for weights and even treadmill as soon as you leave the gym you're going to be hurting. The Nike's have amazing support, and I got some inserts too just for that extra cushioning. Wore them to the gym yesterday and they felt good, I did about five minutes of cardio (interval on treadmill) and felt pretty good. My feet were a bit sore, but I expect that is from wearing shoes that actually support my feet instead of wearing thongs every day.
I am using my Instagram for more fitness things now, I am finding it really motivating following users who post about fitness and general health especially when I am feeling good about myself with something I can post.
Set myself some short term goals
- Going a week drinking only water/tea/protein shake: I broke this yesterday as my meds were making me very sick so I had some ginger beer to soothe my stomach. Back on the water today
- Creating fitness planner: This is kind of happening, just working out what days I do what. It's a bit hard this week as my trainer isn't here and I have a wedding Friday, plus I had worked beach into my planner but now the weather is turning stormy so unsure if we will still go the beach.
- Watching food, but not super strict: This is going okay, although today I am going to have a last oorah and get Katsu Chicken for lunch. I cooked up some cajun chicken and beans with scrunchy salad for other days.
Plan for after work is some more interval training outside and a body weight workout and then we have to pack more =/ Settlement is in a month, and it's quite scary thinking about all the things we have to get done within that month.
Oh, MyFitnessPal profile if anybody would like to add me! It says I lost 40kg, not true.. Somehow it had my weight as an extra 40kg and I updated it and now it things I am a super weightloss machine..

Are those Nike ID's? I just got a pair for Christmas and I'm in loveee with them. My last pair of Nikes gave out on me in November and I almost cried. Worth the investment money though. Cajun chicken and beans with scrunchy salad sounds delish by the way, you should share that recipe (hint hint, wink wink)!
ReplyDeleteNike Dual Fusions. My first pair of Nikes, pretty excited.
DeleteI might look at doing some recipe posts shortly =]
